All cats and dogs 16 weeks of age or older are eligible for a rabies vaccine.  Legally all states require dogs to be rabies vaccinated.  Additionally, cats are required to be rabies vaccinated in the state of Illinois.  We recommend all pets be vaccinated, regardless of your residing state.

No, you do not have to be a current client.  However, we will have to make an account for you and yours pets for medical records and to provide you with a rabies certificate.

With no previous records to go off of, your pet will be treated as a naïve patient, meaning we treat them as if they have never been vaccinated before.  This isn't not a bad thing, it just means they will only receive a 1 year rabies.

If your pet is eligible for a 3 year rabies, you MUST bring/send us the medical records from the last place they received a rabies vaccine.

If you are unsure, just give us a call before rabies day and we can help you determine which you will recieve.

Please be sure to tell us.  To ensure everyone's safety, please make us aware of any concerns you have about how your pet will respond to us giving a vaccine. 

If your dog/cat needs to be muzzled, that is fine.  You can bring one from home or we may have one to put on when you get here.

*If you are a current client, call our clinic to make sure your pet has all the necessary updated information.  And you can double check if they will be getting a 1 year or a 3 year vaccine.

*If you are a new client, please call the last vet that gave your pet a rabies vaccine and send us the medical records (preferably before the day of the rabies drive thru) so we can ensure a smooth, efficient day.

On the day of the event, follow the signs into the ONE WAY driveway, that loops around the back of the clinic and out the other driveway.  You will get in line behind the other vehicles, someone will come to your window with paperwork to complete (if you have not already filled it out online).  When you get to the front of the line and it is your turn, please STAY IN THE CAR, the vet and assistant will vaccinate your pet inside the vehicle.  Someone will collect payment and return with a receipt and a rabies certificate.
